Hello, Striders!
Today is day 7 of the Primal Stride Week 2 Challenge. You’ve been crunching on fruits and vegetables and your abs all week.
Are you glad you did it? Have you learned anything about yourself in the past week? Will you keep eating vegetables and doing crunches now that the weeks is over?
My update: Green beans and crunches go well together. =)
And now for the bad news: I won’t have time to coordinate challenges over the next two weeks. What I can do is check in you every so often to make sure you’re doing well. I’ll also continue to update with letters for the 100lbs project. I’ve lost some weight in 2010 and I want to get those break-up letters written! =) So, beyond your normal check-in for the challenge, make sure to let me know if you’re doing anything in the next two weeks you’d like me to check in on you for.
Thank you all for your loving kindness and enthusiastic support! I have a feeling that come February 1st some of you newly-minted early risers will need a check-up challenge. =)
I’m glad for your thoughts.

Day 7 http://lxxiii.blogspot.com/2010/01/primal-stride-challenge-2-day-7.html
I’ve done all the challenge this week and I am very glad I did it. I will definitely continue to eat veggies.
Since you won’t be organizing a challenge for next week (*tear*) I will be giving myself a challenge. I’m thinking 200 lunges per day. On top of that I am going to incorporate this week’s challenge into my regular day by also doing 100 crunches per day.
If anyone would like to join me, please feel free to visit my website http://blog.fithungrygurl.com/ tomorrow morning. I will be posting about this simple challenge early in the morning.
Thanks for this week. It was definitely a challenge.
I didn’t do my crunches Wednesday because I was stuck at my college from when I woke up until dinner time registering so when I got out I was grouchy and starving lol However I’ll be finishing up the challenge on Saturday with my crazy all-new greens stir-fry!
I’m going to keep the crunches going.. I generally eat at least one green veg a day anyway so that is pretty much automatic.
So far only done a few days of crunches but already feel it is doing something, that said I took a rest day today as I was feeling a bit too sore but am keen to get going again tomorrow..
This has been a great start to the year and I certainly plan to build on it.
Seth, I’m sorry you can’t keep us all organized for the next couple of weeks, but I’ll be here when you get back. In the meantime, I’ll be walking every day and eating my veggies.
Sorry for being out of commission the past few days. It’s been busy with travel and work.
Caught up on crunches last night (plus the 5k), with 500 to make up for the day I forgot to do them. I’ve been eating fruits, so have eaten: apple, pear, peach, mango, clementine, banana. Still need to eat an orange and do 250 crunches tonight.
Have to admit I haven’t been on a scale so far this year, but certainly feels/looks like I’ve lost a pound or two, so looking forward to the challenges resuming!
Friday! Daikon
It’s kinda green. A minty green.
Still sick, but I don’t have a fever today. 100 crunches so far, doing the rest before lunch.
Seth, looking forward to reading your “break-up letters”! Thanks for the challenges that have helped to begin this year on the right foot.
Finished. Broccoli.
Oh no! I totally get the busyness, mine *just* finished. Let me know if there is anything I could do – its exam break the next two weeks and I only have 2 exams (Monday & Tuesday, then finished!!!).
I’ve started my crunches but still have a few more to do but its all good! Had peas and corn (I know corn’s not green but peas are =D) and a lot of clementines. They’re dreamy.
Had Swiss chard tonight. My lovely wife cooked up some with olive oil, garlic, and balsamic vinegar. Very nice.
I know that keeping this pace for the year isn’t realistic. Have you thought about having a guest blogger for a week (or two) each month? Your discretion, of course. Just a thought.
Congratulations on the weight loss!!! Yay!!! Kick ‘dem b*tches out!
Keep up the good work. The first two challenges really helped get me into gear, and I think having a couple of weeks to solidify these new habits before adding new challenges may be a good idea.
I did begin the first week of Couch-to-5K challenge (for me it’s Computer-to-5K challenge). ONLY 8 more weeks (and a day) to go.
Good luck with all you have to do the next couple of weeks.
Oops…also:
250 crunches in.
Bok choy, cilantro, and jalapeƱo also in.
I lost 6 pounds in a week!!! Heee Hawww!!!! http://www.shellibelly.com
Crunched, Crunched and Crunched!
I love the 7 day Challenge so since I missed the first one I will go back and catch up to my fellow Striders. I agree with Gina that these new routines need to be solidied before the next Challenge.
Thanks Seth
Shelli, that’s fantastic! Congratulations!
Hey, everyone!
I was looking forward to joining all of you with the Week 3 Challenge, but since Seth isn’t going to be able to get that together right now, I’ll do weeks 1 and 2 and then I’ll be caught up with everybody else.
Kellie, this is a great idea, I will repeat the challenges over the next two weeks as well!
I’m started Week 1 today.
Wonderful! Welcome, Shelli Belly and Kellie!

Finished week 2 with a mind-altering (well, body altering at least 8=) 250 crunches spread over 3 sets during the day. Doing 100 at a time has become relatively easy, so I’m going to work on getting another week of 250+ per day.
I got in the veggies again (using a loop hole — had the chicken veggie stew again with its 4 different green veggies).
For week 3 I’m continuing the 7 am rising from my modified 5 at 5 (although I blew it completely on Day 1 — up at 10:30). I’ll be continuing the 250 crunches. Hopefully by week 4 I’ll have my snowshoe repaired and can get back out for my 2k snowshoe treks.
Looking forward to getting Seth back in two weeks. You’re a great inspiration!
Loop-holes can be very useful to get the job done. Good going!
I had wondered how you were going to keep up this pace. Good for you for taking care of yourself! We can keep motivated on our own, I suspect.
I did really well on the veggies, but then nutrition was my focus in other ways this week. Not quite as well on the CORE, but better than I’d done in awhile. So I can focus more on that next week. Or whenever. Someone mentioned water a few days back, and I want that to be another focus.
I’ll be looking forward to your letters, Seth, and thanks for the inspiration of the first two challenges!
Thanks for the update man!
I’d say I fell off the wagon this week due to work travel, but I did take time out between the meetings and happy hour to get a work-out in at the fancy-pants hotel gym. (Since I am not lucky enough to have a gym in my real life.) Took last night off to catch up on much-needed sleep from said work and just finished a half-ass work-out here in my living room. Complete w/3 kinds of crunches, but not nearly 250 of them.
Tomorrow starts the 1st day of MS 150 training for the SLT team but the rain and shitty coldness might require us to sleep in later and wait out the storm. Cheers to that-me and that early morning crud don’t mix.
I was around 219 after new years and am back down to 213 today! My personal-life issues and stresses have improved (THANKFULLY) and I think my life will go back to “normal”. That includes how I eat and workout.
More to come over the weekend based on mileage on the bike..peace out and Happy Friday all!
Seth, hope all is going well for you.
Let’s Challenge Again!
