250 crunches works for me. I'm glad that you allow for modifications, but I'm going to start with this one first, see how I feel and if I need mods... I'll let you know. In the meantime, here's my post for Day 4 - http://meatymatron.wordpress.com/2010/01/04/post004/

Believe it or not, I actually use my work boots although I'm not running. They are very comfortable for walking and the snowshoeing and have a thinsulate lining to keep warm unless it gets down below the -30C mark.

And they are surprisingly comfortable in the summer as well. Pretty amazing boots.

I should do the same. Having a time to beat will give me another reason to push myself. I've been a bit of a slacker lately and need to get back into the habit of pushing the envelope a bit with each run.

Thanks for the inspiration!

Spirit-lifting goes both ways! I think I speak for many when I say I'm so glad you're okay and that you'll be back in the saddle shortly!

Modified challenges are the stuff the good life is made of. =) I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Thanks so much to all of you who posted and tweeted supportive messages after I reported my fall downstairs Saturday. See, that alone was worth joining the challenge! I'm happy to report my doctor doesn't think there's any real damage to my recent spinal fusion. After a few more days of getting rid of bruises and soreness, I should be back where I was and ready to start walking again. If I rattled loose some of the fusion that had started, it'll just take a little longer to fuse, but no repairs expected.
Once I'm able, I'll definitely be continuing this week's challenge. Walking in the unseasonably cold air last week was invigorating and the best I've felt in ages. I can't wait to get started again. I also love the proposed 7-green-vegetables challenge for next week. Crunches won't be on my agenda for a while, but I'll come up with something else to do.
Thanks again to all of you for lifting my spirits!
